After the success of Art Edition 1, we are back with Art Edition 2. From 15th to 25th September, 2020, we will once again exhibit the works of 4 International and 4 Indian artists.

Selva Ozelli Esq, CPA, is an environmentalist who expresses the sentiment of the times of Corona in her work as an artist, writer, international tax attorney, and certified public accountant. Her works have been showcased in multiple countries, as well as by the UN for its World Environment, Oceans and Desertification days. Her works have also been published by the world’s first climate change museum, the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, Hong Kong. Know more about her work and take a look at her art here.
Jyotirmoy’s drawings and prints are based on the ecosystem, environment and nature. His primary focus is on living beings such as insects, birds, beasts, fish, etc., which play a significant role in our environment. He is originally from a remote village named Kanjiakhali. In 1999, his family shifted from the village to a suburb, Uluberia, where he realised that the ecosystem of his village was not available in the suburb, where the flora and fauna had greatly deteriorated. Just like the Herbarium Drawings that are simultaneously scientific and aesthetic, Jyotirmoy attempts to bring a similar effect to his works – as an Artist-Botanist.
During the past year, Ilhan Sayin and Ismail Soysal participated in two art shows: a group art show titled the ‘Atelier Teymur Rzayev’s First Digital Climate Change Art Show’ and launched their own art show titled ‘Tracking Colors’. About the role of an artist towards his/her community, Ilhan told Norvergence that “an artist, by using their esthetic talent, intellect and emotions, [continually] interprets and expresses their surroundings using their unique artistic language.”

The group digital art show, which was published by the Pinelo Art Gallery, was a registered digital event for UN’s World Environment, Oceans and Desertification days. It was published by the world’s first climate change museum, the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, Hong Kong, as well as by more than 40 other museums around the world.
ক্ষৌণীশের বাড়ি পশ্চিমবঙ্গে, তবে কর্মসূত্রে এখন তিনি মুম্বই নিবাসী। তিনি পেশাগতভাবে একজন ইলেকট্রিক্যাল ইঞ্জিনিয়ার । প্রফেশন না হলেও আঁকা বরাবরই তার প্রিয় একটা বিষয়। সেভাবে প্রথাগত ভাবে শেখেননি কখনো। ভালো লাগা থেকেই আঁকেন। রঙ তুলির সাথে যোগাযোগ যখন প্রায় উঠে গেছে সময়ের চাপে , তখন ডিজিটাল পেইন্টিং এর সাথে ক্ষৌণীশের পরিচয় হয়। তার কথায় — “ধীরে আবার ফিরে পেলাম আঁকাকে। প্রতিদিনের শেষে যে সব মুহূর্তের কাছে আমরা বারেবারে ফিরে যেতে চাই, আমি চেষ্টা করি তাদের ফুটিয়ে তুলতে। এই প্রকৃতিতে শান্ত যা কিছু , তাদের নিয়েই ছবি আঁকতে আমার সবচেয়ে বেশি ভালো লাগে। “
Self-taught painter Mehmet Sinan Kuran began his art career by sketching in journals. Internally driven and emotionally charged, Mehmet’s original miniature sketches have been described as “complex yet uplifting” paintings. “I have been drawing every single thought in my head”, says Kuran. He made art all throughout his life which led him to gather the pieces of his collective consciousness and stream them onto his works, creating his original style.
Shinjini Dey lives in Kolkata, India. The lockdown gave her an opportunity to reconnect with Art. For her, it always starts with an interest in a new technique, a new medium or a new theme that fascinates her. She relishes that sense of discovery. She feels good to be able to get back to painting after many years. Shinjini specializes in acrylic painting and pencil shading. She focuses primarily on portraits, landscapes and framing nature in all its glorious detail.
Ferit was born in Diyarbakır in 1982. He has always been interested in painting since an early age. His secondary school teachers inspired him a lot from a very tender age as he was fascinated by them and they were always painting. While preparing for the university, Ferit did not want to choose a subject that would require him to memorize a lot of information and explain it to his students. He wanted to produce art because it led him to express things, not based on his memory, but his skills. He wanted to become a painting teacher.
Going by the pseudonym the_i_diot, Priya uses minimalistic illustration to create visual stories in a comprehensible yet engaging manner. While giving in to the perks of social media as a platform for showcasing art, her illustrations often depict the complex relationship between the internet and its impact on the millennial generation. Though simple in appearance her art is confrontational, and often jolts the viewers to engage with common issues that plague her thoughts and end up finding their way into her sketchbooks.
